How to select a Archery Bow

by Bow Hunter

Since early man learned how to use tools to help with their survival, archery has played a role in the gathering of food and even warfare. Ancient Assyrians and Babyloians practiced archery as a sport and used bows heavily in warfare. Today, though, we have the know-how to select archery bows that work best for our modern needs.

The three basic types of bows that exist today are the traditional longbow, recurve bow and compound bow. In medieval combat, the longbow was the archers weapon of choice because it shoots straight and hard. In many cases, the actual bow is taller than the archer using it. Being able to take aim and shoot over long distances is an appealing feature of this bow with the only downfall being it is cumbersome and large. During hunting, the longbow has it’s advantages and drawbacks.

by Chris L. Martinelli

I can’t see a twelve-year-old child with an airsoft gun myself, however The Mother explained to her son Tom, “Your father might take responsibility for teaching you gun safety. Airsoft might be an activity that you and your father could do together.” She added, “It will be great if you and your father can go out the range and pay airsoft paintballs and you can learn abouty gun safety.”

When your father comes home from work, we’ll ask him. You father has had some paintball experience and he’ll know what is best for a growing boy like you, son. It might teach you how to control your gun. I know that gun safety is a good to know. Most hunting accidents are caused by inexperienced hunters and untrained people.

Guided and Unguided Elk Hunting

by Andrew W John

For a hunting adventure that lets you hike the countryside round about and gives you a feeling of achievement, a big game sport to give consideration is elk hunting. When you have the time for it, elk hunting has a lot to offer. Of course, there is the large amount of meat for your freezer but that isn’t all. It is great exercise and, if you get a big trophy bull, you get to brag about that for a long time and have something on your wall to show for it. You will want to check out the facts here if you are considering hiring a guide to go elk hunting. Engaging a guide isn’t just for novice hunters. Experienced hunters have a good many reasons to hire a guide, too.

The first thing to consider is experience and location. How well do you know the area? If you have hunted in the area before or if you are very familiar with the type of country that you’ll be going through, you may not need to be as reliant on a guide. However, as elk have a wide range throughout North America, there is a good chance that if you are elk hunting you might be doing in in a location you don’t know very well. Are you familiar with hunting in a very wet location, or a drier one? How comfortable with you in the mountains as opposed to the deep forests? A guide can help you make up for any weakness you have when you are in new territory.
