A lot of creative cheerleading fundraising ideas exist to help out your squad this year. If your cheerleading squad comes up a little short on funds. These ideas include sure fire money makers like yard sales, bake sales and car washes.

There are many ways to raise money for your cheerleading squad. You might need money for traveling to different sporting events, new uniforms, and items to pass out to the crowd at the pep rallies. When you are shot on funds it can put a damper on the amount of fun and effectiveness you have on your home team crowd.

A great fundraiser for your cheerleading squad is to have a bake sale. Each cheerleader can bake something different to bring to the sale; cookies, pie, cake or their own specialty. You can then sell these baked goods to raise money for your squad. Bake sales tend to do very well - after all, it’s hard to resist fresh baked treats. If you have your bake sale at a sporting event, it is sure to be a hit.

A yard or garage sale can also be a terrific fundraiser for your cheerleading squad. You’ll need some help from adults for this to work well, but parents are usually more than willing to lend a hand; they generally have a lot of items t donate for a yard sale fundraiser.

In your own neighborhood there is probably a gold mine of items sitting around unused in people’s garages and attics. You can help them clear out these things and raise money for your cheerleading squad at the same time.

If you find yourself with a lot of donated items for your yard sale fundraiser, then you’ll probably need to find a large location to hold this event. Perhaps your school would be willing to let you make use of the gym or auditorium, or someone on your cheerleading squad may have a large yard or long driveway ideal for holding a large sale. After the sale, you’ll need to get rid of the unsold items; you can’t just leave them there after all. You can arrange for a pickup from a charity organization such as Goodwill, or find someone with a truck or van that is willing to drive the items to a donation center.

A carwash can be a great fundraiser for your cheerleading squad too. Ask local gas stations; many will be happy to let you use their parking lot and hose hookups for a good cause. All you will need is plenty of soap, hoses and some willing volunteers to hold signs and wash cars for your fundraiser.

As you can see, there are many creative cheerleading fundraising ideas out there - when your squad needs a little money, sit down and get creative!
